Welcome to EdVance Guidance at Burnhamthorpe.  We offer many services including: 

  • Planning for post-secondary education and applications for college, university, apprenticeship and workplace destinations
  • Scholarship and financing opportunities for post-secondary education
  • Assistance with course selection, career counselling and goal-setting 
  • Registration for night school, summer school, and e-learning
  • Individual assistance and short-term counselling, referral to social worker and/or community agencies
  • Job counselling and resume assistance
  • Assistance with finding volunteer opportunities

Current Information on Community Hours
40 hours of Community Service have always been required for Graduation.

ONE City Scholarship 
ONE City Scholarship Fund supports young people graduating from TDSB schools who have found a way to excel in spite of facing serious obstacles.

ONE City's applications are now open until March 28th. 

 

The Investing in Our Diversity Scholarship Program
The Investing in Our Diversity Scholarship Program recognizes the commitment of young people involved in community leadership, anti-racism or diversity initiatives, and in building safe and healthy communities.  A scholarship recipient can receive up to a $4,000 scholarship award towards tuition fees for full-time postsecondary education or training i.e. college, university, trade school or apprenticeship.

Public Property Assessment Network Scholarship
The Ontario Public School Boards’ Association (OPSBA) is accepting applications for the Public Property Assessment Network Scholarship. This scholarship will be awarded in the amount of $1,000 to one recipient in the OPSBA Central East Region.  Scholarship recipients are students of strong character, who care deeply about their communities and furthering their own learning.  The TDSB is one of the eligible school boards for this regional scholarship.
