Clubs

Blake Students in Grades 1-6 have the opportunity to participate in a variety of supervised clubs. These clubs are offered throughout the year and run during recesses and/or after school. 

Come on out and join one today!

Art Club 
This fun and creative club runs every Thursday in Room 201 from 11:30-12:30! 'The Art Club' is open to any Blake student in Grades 1-3!  Come out to Room 201 for some colourful fun!                                                                 


Choir

Are you in grade 1-6 and love to sing? If your answer is yes, then this is the club for YOU!  This amazing club meets Monday and Tuesday in room 206 and Wednesday in the library, from 12-12:30 with Ms. Church and Ms. Davey.  We are all looking forward to hearing the wonderful sounds and seeing this club perform for the Blake School community! 



Eco Club 

Every Wednesday from 11:30-12:15 'The Eco Club' meets in room 106 with Ms. Kiil and Ms. Ellis to work on environmental initiatives for the school. If you are in grades 4-6 and are interested in joining this fun and rewarding club please see Ms. Kiil or Ms. Ellis for a permission form! 




Folk Dance Club

Folk Dancing runs from 12 noon until 12:30pm every Monday in Room 308 for interested students in grades 3-6. The club finishes with a fun TDSB FolkFest Jamboree event at East York Collegiate from 6:30pm - 8:00pm on Tuesday, May 12th. Interested students are encouraged to drop into the library and try it out -- it's always a lot of fun! Ms. Jamieson, Ms. Molder and Ms. Paton sure hope you can join them! Free The Children Club

Are you interested in social issues and making a difference in your local and global community? The 'Free The Children Club' runs every Thursday in the library from 11:30-12:00 with Ms. Dyment and Ms. Logan. This amazing club focuses on developing initiatives that support our local and global community throughout the year. Join this club and Make a Difference in the lives of others!





Garden Club 

Elin Marley is Blake's garden educator and advisor.  On top of running our garden education program with all of our Blake classes throughout the year, Elin also leads the amazing 'Garden Club'! Garden Club runs in the fall and spring, during gardening season (approximately September-November and April-June); Wednesdays at lunch (after they've eaten). Come out and get your hands dirty in the soil!



Karate Kids Club - completed for this school year

Blake is pleased to have the popular Karate Kids program back again for the 2014-2015 school year!  This year the 'Karate Kids Club' is running every Thursday from 12:00-12:30 p.m. in the gym.  This weekly fitness and character building club is open to all grade 1 to 3 students. Pre-registration is required to join the Karate Kids Club.


Operation Kids Opera Club - completed for this school year

This incredible club is new to Blake this year.  Every Wednesday from 4:00-5:30 p.m. (October 1st - December 3rd), registered Blake students have the opportunity to join this fun and dramatic opera club. Pre-registration is required to join the Operation Kids Club!


Skipping Club 

This fun club happens during the spring months.  If you are interested in having lots of skipping fun, this club is open to all grade 1 to 6 students.  Every Tuesday this club meets outside door 5 at 11:30 to 12:00!  The students skip first, and then they come inside to eat lunch after learning new skipping moves.  We hope to see you at this club in the Spring!
