OUR SCHOOL

The cornerstone of Winston Churchill Collegiate Institute was laid on December 4, 1953 by the Scarborough Board of Education. The school opened to its first 690 students on September 7, 1954 to service the Scarborough community.  Winston churchill C.I. was the first school built after World War II as well as being the third high school in Scarborough. The school was named after the British Prime Minister during the Second World War, Sir Winston Leonard Spencer-Churchill.

Winston Churchill Collegiate Institute serves a diverse cultural community. Our staff are dedicated to providing programs and opportunities which will prepare our students to contribute effectively in a rapidly changing world. Our Community Place for Learning is founded on mutual respect. We celebrate cultural diversity, leadership and academic excellence.

The school colours are purple and silver and the Churchill mascot is the Winston Churchill Bulldog.
