On behalf of the staff at C.W. Jefferys C.I., I welcome you to our school website. On these pages we aim to inform you about the programs we offer to over 850 students in academic excellence, athletics, student leadership, and co-curricular activities within our school community. We hope parents and families will accept our invitation to partner with our school community in the education of their teen.

We offer various pathways to meet the needs of all learners. We prepare students for university, college, and apprenticeship programs – we boast of sending 83% of our graduates to Post-Secondary Schools and Apprenticeship programs.  We are proud of the variety of courses and programs we offer here at CWJ. One of which is the ESTe2M program, a specialized Math, Science & Technology program with a focus on equity and social justice unique to our school. Another program we take pride in is the Law in Action Within Schools (LAWS) Program. This partnership between the TDSB, York University’s Osgoode Law School, and the University of Toronto’s Law School is designed to support and mentor students to pursue careers in legal fields.  Our students are mentored by practicing lawyers from Corporate Law Offices in the downtown Toronto area. As a result, our students gain employment and internship opportunities in these firms.

In the 2024-25 school year, we look ahead to having a Specialist High Skills Majors (SHSM) program in Business – an opportunity for our students to begin to establish relationships and networks in their chosen fields while earning their credits. We respond to our students’ interests and enhance their career exploration through experiential learning opportunities, such as Co-op and apprenticeship opportunities.

Finding joy in learning is important to us! At Jefferys we actively create opportunities that bolster students' creativity and centre joy.  That’s why we offer over 20 extra-curricular clubs supervised by our dedicated staff.  We also offer a variety of fall, winter, and spring sports. Engagement in extra-curricular activities creates a balanced attitude in youth both socially and academically. To this end, through our Leadership program, we invest in training over 100 student leaders every year to build leadership capacity, mentorship, and 21st century skills. In addition, our staff takes pride in building authentic relationships with students to ensure well-being.

I encourage all students, and parents/families to check this website for general information and keep up with our Weekly CWJ Broadcast.  It is also on this website that you will find information about our School Council where parents are our valued partners.

Thank you for your interest in C.W. Jefferys – Home of the Yellowjackets!
