The Principal of David Lewis PS, Karen Peach, recently received the Leading Women, Building Communities Award. The award, which recognizes outstanding achievement, is presented by Ontario’s Minister Responsible for Women’s Issues and is awarded to women who have demonstrated exceptional leadership to improve the lives of others in their communities in diverse ways.

Karen, who has been the Principal at David Lewis PS for 11 years, was one of two women presented with the award by Scarborough Agincourt MPP Soo Wong at a special reception on March 29 at the Mon Sheong Foundation.

Welcome to the official David Lewis P.S. website. It is a work in progress designed to highlight our school, its initiatives and our successes. We would like to invite our staff, students and the community to tap into this technological innovation not only to view Lewis online, but also to celebrate the connectivity of our global village.

David Lewis P. S., named for a prominent Canadian politician, was officially opened in May 1990. The school is located in east Toronto, and serves a culturally diverse community of 362 students from junior Kindergarten to Grade 8. A Junior Y.M.C.A. Daycare programme is located in our school, providing daycare for both pre-school and school age children. A small, active school council works co-operatively towards identified school/community goals.

Lead by an experienced, dynamic staff with many diverse talents, David Lewis P. S. is committed to educate every student in its care by providing the skills, knowledge and values necessary for individuals to be capable, active and concerned participants in Canadian society. We are proud of our fine school!
