Downsview, for the week of April 29th, your Student of the Week is Naomi C.R.
Naomi is in the twelfth grade; she will graduate soon.
Those who know Naomi know her for her sunny, friendly nature. Naomi is genuinely a kind, open-hearted person. But, there is more to Naomi, and her nominators are happy to offer their praise. Ms Stackhouse notes that Naomi is “so kind, friendly and polite. She’s a great friend, too - loyal, and protective.” And, from Mr Henriques: “I’ve had the privilege of coaching and teaching Naomi over the last few years at Downsview. Always pleasant and fun-spirited, Naomi brought a sense of purpose and positivity to Downsview. Naomi’s compassion and kindness towards others is also first-rate. A great student and more importantly, a great person.”
Mr Wallace says: “Naomi is a good person and you want her on your team. She doesn't put herself forward, but she's a leader. Kindness is important to her and she lives it, showing us all how. She also knows how to battle. When she faced a setback during basketball season with a leg injury, she faced the challenge with quiet but deep determination. She is curious, smart and loyal. And her presence lets you know things are going to be alright.
Ms Silvana gushes with many exclamation points here: “Naomi!!! This is fantastic!! You are a leader who is calm, quiet and gets things done. You are such a mentor and role model to others. You are kind and often so helpful. Naomi, you are such a strong leader in the school and we have been sooo lucky to have had you shining your brilliance for years. Congrats on this wonderful well-deserved recognition!”
Hear this, from Ms Butuza: “Naomi's leadership shines brightly as she consistently demonstrates kindness, warmth, and a smile that lights up the room. Her respectful demeanor and unwavering involvement in school activities make her a cherished member of our community. Working alongside Naomi for the Latin Heritage Assembly has been an absolute pleasure. She shows dedication, positivity, talent and genuine care for others. I wish you all the best in your future endeavours! Keep up the excellent work, and I promise to continue practicing the Spanish you have taught me.”
And finally, from Ms D’Andrea: “Naomi is such a pleasure to teach. I am so lucky to have her in two dance classes this semester and I am so proud of her dedication, kindness and teamwork. Naomi is reliable and mature. I can always count on her if I need someone to lead a warm-up or help other students in the class. She is a passionate leader when it comes to organizing and preparing for the Latin Heritage month assembly. She has spent countless hours rehearsing and preparing for this event. Naomi represented Downsview at tdsbCREATES last week and did an amazing job, because she takes rehearsals seriously and works so well with her peers. Congratulations on winning Student of the Week, Naomi! You’re a star!”
