Co-op Education

The co-operative education program allows students to obtain high school credits through a combination of time in school and in the workplace. Most career areas can be accommodated within this multi career co-op. Some of our most popular careers are: Accounting Clerk, Teacher's Assistant, Office Assistant, Hairstylist, Daycare Assistant, Community Support Worker, Web Developer, and Desk Top Publisher. This six credit co-op package combines units from the Designing your Future (GLW) with GLN 4O.

What is Co-op

Combining time in school and time off-site working
An 18 week program
September to February or February to June
Experiential learning through a work/business experience
Learning and studying about workplace protocol and expectations
Learning successful job search techniques
Learning the critical employability skills employers are looking for
Evaluating strengths, attitudes, beliefs and habits, and learning to optimize our potential
Developing life skills such as managing stress, good decision making techniques
Developing good communication skills

 Who is eligible?

Candidates who have the required level of English – oral and written

How to register:

Candidates must come to the school and fill out appropriate registration forms and do the written assessment
Candidates must complete a co-op application package and book an appointment for an interview with a co-op teacher
Please bring any previous educational documents
Please bring any immigration documents
