Group Dynamics Gr 6

Team-building, challenge and problem-solving are the essence of the day.  Through a series of large and small group activities, students will practice and use skills like communications and cooperation to help them accomplish these challenges.  Character Development will be central to all activities, as students will be encouraged to support classmates, persevere, and enjoy the day with each other celebrating their successes!

PLEASE NOTE:  The Challenge Ropes course activities can only be offered in fine weather in order to run a safe and effective program.    

Overall Expectations:

Health and Physical Activity: 

  • 1 demonstrate personal and interpersonal skills and the use of critical and creative thinking processes as they acquire knowledge and skills in connection with the expectations in the Active Living, Movement Competence, and Healthy Living strands for this grade  

Specific Expectations:

  • 1.1 use self-awareness and self-monitoring skills to help them understand their strengths and needs, take responsibility for their actions, recognize sources of stress, and monitor their own progress, as they participate in physical activities, develop movement competence, and acquire knowledge and skills related to healthy living
