Parent Council

The Ontario Ministry of Education has mandated all school boards establish school councils in their schools. The mandate of the council will be to analyze and provide input for the principal in a number of significant areas that lead to school improvement.• Partnerships will enhance real life learning

  • Enrich the educational experience and promote student excellence;
  • Understanding of shared goals and varying perspectives;
  • Heightened access to school and community resources and information;
  • Shared responsibility and accountability by all partners for effective student learning.

We believe that relationships between our school and community is strengthened through the school council which serves as a means of improving student learning and school effectiveness.

Education is a partnership involving parents, students, teachers, principals, school boards, government and the community. Involvement in the council gives parents the opportunity to strengthen that partnership, and to be part of a dedicated team working to ensure high quality education and accountability for our children. Parent participation can make a difference!
