Grade 8 is a very exciting time as our students begin to prepare for high school admissions. We wanted you to be aware of the changes to the procedures surrounding expression of interest.  

TDSB’s Central Secondary Student Interest Programs:  The TDSB offers more than 40 central special interest programs for secondary students (e.g. Arts-focus, International Baccalaureate). Programs focus on a variety of interests including the Arts; math, science and technology; leadership pathway; International Baccalaureate; and more. These programs are for anyone who demonstrates an interest and passion in a particular area. 

Application for these programs opens in November.  Please check the TDSB website for the most up-to-date information

APPLICATIONS TO SCHOOLS OUTSIDE THE TDSB 

Many of the high schools are requesting documents, please be aware if you are asking for copies of report cards or other documentation, our office staff can accommodate but will need about a week to turn requests around.  Please send an email to karenkainschoolofthearts@tdsb.on.ca with the subject heading: Report Card Request.
