Welcome to Macklin Public School!

Macklin Public School is located in the Milliken Community on the North side of Ingleton Boulevard. The school officially opened in 1988 and received its name in honour of the Scarborough Pioneer, Marshall Macklin.

Our school has approximately 390 students. 
Our students and staff have earned distinctions in math contests, athletic events, environmental awareness, music, literacy and history competitions.  We value and encourage daily physical activity and healthy living practices.

Terry Fox Run/Walk

On World Cancer Day, Terry Fox Foundation and Research Institute Unveil Bold New 'Finish It' Brand Platform and a Moving Short Film Featuring Music by The Tragically Hip

We are excited to announce that our annual Terry Fox Run will take place on Friday, September 25th! This is a wonderful opportunity for our school community to come together in support of cancer research, inspired by Terry’s legacy of courage and determination. This year, our fundraising goal is $1,000, and we welcome donations from families and friends to help us reach it. Curriculum Night - October 1st

We will be having our annual Curriculum Night/Meet the Family evening on Thursday, October 1st, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.  Our School Council is hosting a Pizza Dinner fundraiser for all families.  Orders (2 slices, juice and a bag of chips - $10) can be made on School CashOnline.  Orders will only be accepted until September 21st.  Starting at 6:00 pm, there will be an opportunity for students and families to visit their classrooms to meet the teacher, and learn more about classroom routines, expectations, curriculum topics, home/class communication, etc. See flyer for details.

 

Orange Shirt Day - wear orange on September 30th

Orange Shirt Day – September 30 – The Ottawa Catholic School Board

Orange Shirt Day: September 30th marks the 5th National Day for Truth and Reconciliation to confront the enduring legacy of Canada’s residential school system, honour Survivors, and commit to meaningful action. This day is about advancing reconciliation through substantive change in the TDSB. Orange Shirt Day, founded in 2013 by Phyllis Webstad, is observed on September 30th. Orange Shirt Day honours First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Survivors of residential schools, remembers the children who never returned home, and acknowledges the intergenerational trauma carried by families and communities. Wearing orange is a visible act of remembrance, solidarity, a tribute to Survivors, and a way to honour the more than 4,200 children identified in unmarked graves and the 150,000 children who attended residential schools across Canada.
