Our History

Pringdale Gardens Public School opened in October 1963 as a Kindergarten to Grade 8 school with twelve classrooms. The land around the school was originally owned by the Pring family, hence the name Pringdale. An eight room addition including a kindergarten and a library with a fireplace was added in 1969. The school became a Junior school (Kindergarten to Grade 6) that year, with the opening of John McCrae Senior Public School. Pringdale Gardens is located in the centre of Scarborough on Danforth Road, north of Eglinton Avenue. Pringdale Gardens has historically been the hub of a culturally diverse, safe and caring community and continues to be to this day.
