For students who are only applying to their home schools (not for those who applied for optional attendance - regular programs or specialized programs):

All students should have discussed their course selection choices with their parent(s) / guardian(s). These course selection sheets should be submitted to Ms. Chang by Monday, February 10th for signing.

RH Dragons' Den is Back!

The Problem:

Despite the increasing amount of families moving into high density neighborhoods, affordable housing is still not readily available. 

Houses for Humans, a new organization, would like to address this issue by creating a mixed use neighbourhood that includes affordable housing on a plot of donated land (Celestica community - Don Mills and Eglinton) so that families in the surrounding areas can be accommodated.

The Challenge:

• Design a mixed use neighbourhood:

  • all amenities the neighbourhood will need 

  • Eg. medical, education, retail, transit, recreation, housing etc.

• Design and build a scale model of a structure/building

  • contribute to the new community

  • based on your designs/blueprints. 

• Present your model and plans via a Pitch Deck

• Design and create a wireframe and app to help your community (or it could be for a designated structure within the community)

Why do we do Forest of Reading?

• To explore new Canadian books for kids/teens.
• To let our voices be heard about our favourite books.
• To make us better readers and writers.
• To experience and celebrate great books and great authors.
