Borden PARC Transition letter to parents & Excursion Form for the school visits

As you may recall, a letter was sent home on November 16, 2015 with updates regarding the Pupil Accommodation Review involving schools in the surrounding neighbourhood. While the decisions regarding the outcome of this review have not yet been made, the recommendation by the Pupil Accommodation Review Committee is the closure of Sir Robert L. Borden BTI as of this June 30, 2016, subject to approval by the Board of Trustees. The final decision regarding this school closure will be made by the Board of Trustees in February 2016.

MEDICAL OFFICER OF HEALTH ADVISORY

A letter has been issued from the Medical Officer of Health, Dr. David McKeown, with regards to the discovery of Blacklegged Ticks in the city. These ticks can be infected with the bacteria that cause Lyme disease. The ticks have been sent to the National Microbiology Laboratory in Winnipeg for further testing – a process that could take weeks. It’s important to note that the risk of Lyme disease in Toronto is low and the vast majority of ticks are not infected, but this letter is being sent out by Toronto Public Health as a precaution.
