Roselands Extra-Curricular Activities

There are always lots of interesting things going on at Roselands! 


Eco Club
This club does our daily composting, recycling, planting and prepares for our eco-audit.  They are also responsible for our monthly eco awards.


Cross country          Cross Country
This team is the first team of the school year has started for students in grades 2-6.  Practices are held in the morning and at lunch.  Please wear running shoes and comfortable clothing and bring water and an extra snack.  The cross country meet is held at Centennial Park.  Only students who can run the complete distance and who have attended practices regulary will be coming to the meet.


basketballBoys & Girls Basketball
Our girls basketball team represented Roselands at the tournament with sportsmanship and determination.  We are proud of their efforts.  The boys team will be participating in a tournament after the winter break.


volleyballBoys and Girls Volleyball
The boys volleyball is during the Fall with the girls season happening during the winter.  Students should listen for announcements for the team meeting to receive permission forms and info about try-outs.


soccer   Boys & Girls Soccer

Our soccer seasons are in the spring.  For the past several years, Roselands has won the tournament and brought the banner home to Roselands!  



Softball     Boys & Girls Softball
Our season is starting soon!  A team mtg and info sesssion will take place in the September.  All equipment is provided.

This is a great sport to get our students running and learn the basics of football.  The season takes place in the Spring


frisbeeUltimate Frisbee
Our ultimate frisbee team is all about sportsmanship and fun!  This exciting sport happens in the Spring!

Our students learn a variety of folk dances and dances from around the world and then participate in folk fest!

Students practice and sing together!


girls'club Girls Club
This club is for our Jr. girls.  The girls focus on topics of Social Justice and issues that are relevant to them.  They meet during the lunch hour year-round.

Student Council
Students in grade 5 and 6 have been given the opportunity to be a part of the RSAC- Roselands Student Advisory Council.  Students in grade 5 and 6 applied and were interviewed for the position.  They will be working to organize events for students, and take on leadership roles within the school. 



chess Roselands students have the opportunity to learn to play chess.  this usually takes place during the winter months at the lunch hour.


Blue spruce and sliver birch

BLUE SPRUCE & SILVER BIRCH 

It is back!  We have our students participating in our Silver Birch and Blue Spruce reading programs.  As usual, we have over 75 students participating!  Stay tuned to find out which books are the winners!
