First Day of School

Typical School Day

Ryerson CS is on a Day 1-5 schedule.  Under our Calendar menu you can print a calendar for the year outlining which days are which.  Student schedules will be different on each of these days.  Specific schedules are based on the student's homeroom teacher and can be obtained under "Teacher Pages".  
 

Below outlines the basic school day schedule:

Supervision after school is in the yard until 3:00pm.  If a child has not been picked up by 3:00pm the teacher on duty will bring the child to the office.  Please try to be on time to pick up your child.  We understand situations beyond control can occur.  Please contact the office ASAP when this happens.  

NOTE:  The office closes at 4pm daily.  Phones will be turned off and our doors will be closed to inquiries.  Please ensure that if you have an urgent matter that you contact the office prior to 4pm. 

First Day of School

Here is everything you need to know for the first day of school:

  • back to schoolClass lists will be posted outside of the school on the south school yard facing the baseball diamond. Students will be able to see who their teacher is and what room they will be in.  Staff will be there to assist students and parents. 
  • Students will arrive at usual time; 8:15am - when supervision is provided.  Students finish school at 2:45pm and supervision is provided in the yard for parent pick-up until 3:00pm.  After 3:00pm any student still waiting outside will be brought to the office.
  • Grade 1-8 teachers will meet students on the south yard
  • Kindergarten teachers will meet students in the Kindergarten Playground.
  • Senior students (Grade 7 & 8's) will receive lockers and locks. ($5) Alternatively, you may bring your own lock. 
  • All students in Grades 1-8 will receive an agenda ($5) during the first days of school.  
  • Students should have binders, pencils, pens, pencil crayons, markers, highlighters, and paper for supplies.
  • Our Nutrition program will begin in the middle of September.
