The Toronto District School Board and Toronto Catholic District School Board are experiencing school bus delays. In particular, parents of students who use Attridge Transportation, Wheelchair Accessible Transit or Sharp Bus Lines should expect significant delays and the possibility that some buses may not be running due to an unanticipated bus driver shortage. We are working to fix this issue as soon as possible.

A Message from the Principal

Principal’s Message

At Whitney, we promote and value learning as an ongoing, active process including dialogue between students, staff, parents and the school community to improve the quality of learning and life within the school.

Everyone’s contribution is valued and critical to student success. Through a balanced curriculum, students are challenged to reach high levels of achievement and develop individual strengths in the academics, the athletics and the arts. Our staff is committed, caring and dedicated to providing programs and challenges that teach students to become successful, responsible citizens who can meet tomorrow’s challenges. Our school thrives on a partnership with parents and we need and value their intellectual, moral, emotional and physical support to enhance the learning of your children.

At Whitney, we continue to look for new and better ways to meet the individual needs of all students. Ongoing communication between the school and home, critical for student success, is provided through the Whitney Word. This weekly newsletter provides information to parents about school programs and events, athletic schedules, activities and school council news. For specific concerns and/or questions about curriculum and school based activities, school staff is always willing to assist and answer your questions.

We warmly welcome each of you to the Whitney Public School community. We look forward to working with you throughout the year to provide learning opportunities and experiences where every child succeeds in an environment of mutual respect and trust.
