Fire Alarms

Fire Alarms

When a continuous sounding of the fire alarm occurs we are all obliged by law to immediately evacuate the building without stopping for coats. All staff and students in the building are to exit by the closest or by the designated fire exit doors posted in each classroom.

The first teacher to leave a particular exit will ask two students to hold open the doors. Everyone is required to move at least 15 - 20 metres away from the building and entrance doors, and not to re-enter the school until the all-clear signal is sounded. Each class has designated fire exit and assembly area.

False fire alarms disrupt learning in all classes. In order to maintain our safe, orderly environment at Woburn, all staff and students need to be vigilant and to report any suspicious actions to the office.

(Causing a false alarm or misusing firefighting equipment is a criminal offence)
