Community Hours

volunteering

All Ontario students must complete a minimum of 40 hours of community involvement activities in order to graduate. The aim is to encourage students to become actively involved in making positive contributions to their community. Students can now begin accumulating their 40 hours during the summer before they enter grade 9. At Birchmount Park we encourage all students to complete their 40 hours before the end of grade 10.

There are many ways you can earn community hours.

Volunteer Toronto is an organization that can offer advice and support on accessing volunteer opportunities in Toronto.
