How to Access Central Tech

Priority for SSWAB

If there is a sibling already attending the school and returning, SSWAB applicants will be Priority #1

Harbord Collegiate Institute

You must apply to the SSWAB school regular program through the Secondary Out-of-Area Admissions application

Priority #3

You cannot request Technological Priority, but all students have the right to take any technological programming they desire.

Any other Secondary School

You must apply to the SSWAB school regular program through the Secondary Out-of-Area Admissions application

Priority #2 - Technological Priority Priority #4 - No technological priority requested, or applicant is not selected for Priority #2 seats

Note:

Students may only gain access to a Special Education Intensive Support Program through the IPRC Placement process.

Students may only gain access to the Central Student Interest Program through the CSIP application in November.

secondary schools without a boundary admission priorities

in keeping with truth and reconciliation, access for first nations, métis and inuit students will be supported outside of the application process. admission will be supported and accommodated at any regular intake time in regular programs.

priority #1 - siblings of students attending the requested school as of september 2024 will be accommodated, as long as the attending sibling will be returning and attending the school in the following year.

priority #2 - 30% of spaces in each grade will be held for applicants residing in the city of toronto and outside of other priority categories who are interested and committed to pursuing technological studies each and every year.

priority #3 - applicants residing within collegiate areas that have historically contributed large numbers of students to the former technical and commercial schools and have limited ability to receive an influx of additional students due to building and/or site constraints:

  • this priority does not apply to central toronto academy.
  • applicants eligible for priority #3 are not eligible for priority #2.
  • the 30% priority seats will be divided between tdsb applicants and non-tdsb applicants based on their proportion of the priority #2 applicant pool.
  • applicants that are not seated as part of this process will then be considered as part of either priority #4 (tdsb applicants) or priority #5 (non-tdsb applicants)
  • riverdale ci to danforth cti;
  • north toronto ci to northern ss;
  • humberside ci to western cts; and
  • harbord ci to central technical school and central toronto academy.

priority #5 - non-tdsb applicants residing within the city of toronto.

 

priority #6 - applicants residing outside the city of toronto. these applicants are not eligible for any other priority.
