On Wednesday, October 30th, we magically turned pumpkins in jack-o-lanterns! 
Here's how we did it:

Step 1:  Scoop out the pulp and the seeds.

 
 
 
 
 
Step 2: Count the seeds in an efficient way. Some groups tried counting by ones. They found it hard to do and it took a long time.
Some groups counted by fives, and some groups counted by tens. These groups found it to be faster and easier!

 
 

Step 3:  Work with table groups to agree on a face to carve. 
Step 4:  Carve it out.
 
                                  

Step 5:  Smile!  You made a jack-o-lantern!
