Take Me Outside Day 2025

Wednesday, October 22, 2025 08:02 PM

Today we participated Take Me Outside Day 2025.

In the morning session, students from Grades 1–4 rotated through seven hands-on outdoor learning stations led by Intermediate student leaders and staff. Activities included a Nature Scavenger Hunt, Pattern Play with natural materials, Parachute Play, Nature Art Creation, Story Circle, Eco Engineering, and City Park Play. Each activity was linked to Ontario Curriculum expectations in Science, Math, Health and Physical Education, Visual Arts, and Language. Students explored textures, patterns, and structures found in nature while building teamwork and problem-solving skills.

Following the rotations, classes gathered for a Reflection Circle to share what they noticed, learned, and enjoyed about outdoor learning. Students expressed gratitude for the opportunity to spend time outdoors and connect with the natural environment.

In the afternoon, Grades 4/5 and 5–8 students participated in a walking trip to Lake Ontario, where they engaged in nature-based learning and exploration under staff supervision.

The event was a wonderful success—filled with laughter, discovery, and meaningful learning experiences. Take Me Outside Day reminded everyone at Eastview of the joy and importance of spending time outdoors and caring for our planet.
