Face-to-Face Exams



e-Learning Day School students in courses with final exams will write a supervised exam at a central location at the end of each semester. You are required to bring photo id with you to your face-to-face exam.

  Semester 1 2019/20
   Thursday January 16, 2020 from 6-8 pm

   Semester 2 2019/20 - CANCELLED DUE TO COVID-19 (your teacher will assign an alternative culminating activity)
   Thursday June 11, 2020 from 6-8 pm


Examinations will take place face-to-face at

John Polanyi Collegiate Institute 

(nearest major intersections: Allen Rd. and Lawrence)

Examination Policy

  • Students should be in the examination room at least 15 minutes before the examination.
  • Every student has the responsibility to arrive at the examination at the correct time. Students will not receive extra time if late.
  • Students are required to sign an attendance sheet and seating plan at the beginning of each examination.
  • A student who misses any examination due to illness must present a medical note, stating that the doctor was aware that an examination was being missed, to the e-Learning Central Office the next day after the exam was missed or a mark of “0” will be assigned.
  • Students must come to the examination room equipped with pencils, ruler, pens and such mathematical instruments as may be needed.
  • Students may leave the examination room only after 1 hour has elapsed.
  • Students must leave the hallways promptly upon excusal/dismissal.

Student Behavior During Examinations

All students are expected to adhere to the follow rules:
  • School photo I.D. or personal photo I.D. (e.g. driver’s license or passport) must be shown.
  • All electronic devices (i.e. cell phones, iPods etc.) must be turned off while writing the examination.
  • No eating is allowed during an exam. Water is permitted.
  • Absolutely no talking or communication of any kind is permitted during the examination.
  • Personal belongings and bags/knapsacks, etc. brought into the exam room are to be placed at the front of the exam room.
  • Do not leave your assigned seat once the exam has begun - raise your hand if you require assistance of any nature.
  • Special requirements of the examination (i.e. calculators, dictionaries) which are brought to the exam room are subject to inspection.
  • Any form of cheating will result in mark of “0” and the risk of removal from the examination room.
