Elizabeth Simcoe Junior PS is a K-6 school nestled in the Guildwood neighbourhood of Scarborough.   We are fortunate to have a variety of green spaces and well as close proximity to Lake Ontario and the Scarborough Bluffs.  We are proud of our staff and students and house three Special Education Gifted classes from Grades 4-6 at  Simcoe.  Our school is currently undergoing renovations.  Updates can be found here:  https://www.tdsb.on.ca/About-Us/Facility-Services/Capital-Projects/Elizabeth-Simcoe-Junior-Public-School

COMMUNITY UPDATE:

TDSB Capital Services is pleased to provide the school community with the following update on the status of the addition and renovation construction project.

Construction of the gym addition and renovation of the former library and open classrooms is advancing well. New foundations and footings have been poured and back filled for the addition, and demolition of existing spaces is largely complete.

Renovation of the West gym has been delayed due to unforeseen existing conditions encountered during construction. The West gym will not be available for school use before the Winter break.

In the interim, the East gym has been reinstated for use by the school, and the areas of access and use by the Contractor have been modified. The school community may be reassured that the gym is safe for school use.

The TDSB and the general contractor remain committed to the safety of students, staff and the public. Ongoing construction will continue to be monitored to ensure minimal impact to school operations while students and staff are attending school.

Please continue to observe traffic signage around the school and pay close attention to pedestrians.

Any concerns regarding safety should be directed to Alex.Tilley@tdsb.on.ca and

Salvatore.Beltrano@tdsb.on.ca.
