Hilltop Middle School, founded in 1958, is located in a residential neighbourhood in the Royal York and Westway area. It is dual-track , offering both English and French Immersion instruction. Approximately 530 students, rich in cultural and socio-economic diversity, attend our school.

Students are assembled and may go to their lockers between 9:15 a.m - 9:05 a.m. Instructional periods will commence at 9:05 a.m. and will continue through until 3:11 p.m. Special sessions, clubs and extra help may be held until 4:00 p.m. for individuals and small groups. We do not expect students to be in the building before 9:00 a.m.unless they are involved in co-curricular activities. At the end of the school day, students are expected to leave the building promptly.
Parents are requested to phone the school at 416-394-7735, prior to 8:30 a.m., to notify a student's absence for the day, If a student is absent and we have not received a call, we will endeavor to contact the parent at home or at work. Parents should advise the school office of any change in telephone numbers. Please ensure the school has home, business and emergency phone numbers that are up to date.
The Lunch Program is for all students who are unable to return home for lunch due to distance and time factors or where the parents are working. Supervision is provided by Board employed lunchroom supervisors who also provide supervision in the schoolyard after lunch. The lunch period is from 11:48 a.m. - 12:43 p.m.
