Welcome to the Island Public/Natural Science School, located on Centre Island. I am Gary Pieters and I serve as the proud principal of Island Public/Natural Science School Community.

We are the only public elementary school on Toronto Island at 30 Centre Island Park. Our school is a shared facility that house 2 school programs under one roof, and the Gibraltar Day Nursery. The day school have a student population of 185 students from Kindergarten to Grade 6, and the overnight outdoor education program led by Toronto Outdoor Education Schools hosts 4,000 overnight, day programs and Summer students yearly, who participate in biodiversity and outdoor learning activities connected to nature.

The majority of students who attend the school are from the city-side at Harbour Square; 10 Yonge St.; 1-145 Queens Quay W. (odd numbers only) and 10 Queens Quay W., high density vertical multi-residential buildings on the city-side and they commute daily by ferry followed by a short bus trip to the school. Approximately 25 of our students live on Ward's and Algonquin Islands.
