Parent Concern Protocol

EQAO

Every year, students in Grades 3 and 6 at every publicly funded elementary school across Ontario, participate in provincial assessments of their reading, writing and math skills. These assessments are conducted by Ontario’s Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO). Grade 3 and 6 students’ results from last year’s assessments have been sent home. Your child’s results indicate his or her achievement in relation to the provincial standard, Level 3, which corresponds to a B- to B+.

EQAO assessments are one source of information about our students’ learning. Our school uses these results, along with other important data, to guide school improvement planning including learning and teaching. Our school’s full report, can be found on EQAO’s website, www.eqao.com.  More information about the assessments, including sample tests and examples of student responses at different achievement levels, can be found in the “Parent Resource” section of EQAO’s Website.
