The Mathematics and Physics department offers core courses in Mathematics for grades 9 through 12 and in Physics for grades 11 and 12.
Math courses are required prerequisites for the majority of College, University and Apprentice programs including all Science, Engineering, Business and Technical programs.
All careers need some level of competence in mathematics. Actuarial Science, Medicine/Nursing and Technical trades like Electrician and Automotive Repair are just a few examples of careers needing mathematics knowledge and skill.
Physics courses are required for technical careers in Engineering and the Trades as well as being recommended courses in preparation for all Careers in the Health Sciences.
