Gifted Program
Martingrove Collegiate has been running the Secondary Gifted Program in the West End for the past thirty years. We offer a variety of gifted courses and many enrichment programs to enhance our students’ experiences in high school. A school board Identification, Placement and Review Committee (I.P.R.C.) must identify students as Gifted in order to gain entrance into the Gifted Program in grade 9 and 10. The Gifted Program itself is recognized as an alternative program whereby the Ontario curricula are enhanced to meet the needs of gifted students. Course delivery is differentiated in a number of ways:
Breadth – the range of the material covered
Depth – the degree to which topics and/or skills are more fully developed
Pace – the speed at which material is covered
Kind – the way in which curriculum is covered and evaluated
