School Safety Procedures

The TDSB has taken steps to ensure your child’s safety while in school. Each school has an emergency-preparedness plan that includes steps staff and students take in the event of an emergency. As part of this plan, the school conducts two annual Lock- Down drills.

A school goes into Hold and Secure in response to a threat in the general vicinity but not on or near the school property. All students remain inside and the doors to the school are locked. No one is permitted to enter the school. Students remain in their classrooms with the windows and blinds closed and continue with their learning. In the event that a Lockdown lasts past the end of the school day, parents will be informed of the location and time to pick up students by the school’s emergency plan or local media.

Safety First!

parking-sign

For the safety of our students, please do not drive into the staff parking lot to drop off your children.

We will need to strictly enforce that the parking lots are for staff only!

In addition, be sure to drop children off on the north side of Nancy Ave. It is unsafe to have children crossing Nancy, unless it is at the traffic lights. Many pedestrians have been hit by cars lately and we are concerned for the safety of our students. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
