Student Report: Greg and Kira (SAC co-chairs)
Manitou was in September for grade 10 students, with grade 11/12 students as leaders. It was a huge success.
Hallowe’en – events included pumpkin carving, a photo booth and candy give-aways
Semi-formal is Nov 17 at The Vu from 6pm-11pm, and is sold out. It is open to ALL grades
Holiday events – SAC is planning door decorations and candygrams
Spirit Week – upcoming – themes such as PJ day and ‘anything but a backpack’ day
May – Mental Health Week
Grad clothing – there will be Hoodies for sale and possibly a contest to find a design for the hoodies
Principal’s Report:
Tutoring supports available
Math – Thursdays 3:15 – 4:15
Language – Wednesdays 3:15 – 4:15
OSSLT prep – 4 sessions (started this week) Tuesday/Thursday
Math Counts – peer tutoring available after school and at lunch

Mid-Term Report Card- Distributed Week of November 14th
Non-disclosure date is 5 days after receiving mid-term report
Term 2 Begins November 11th (students in Civics/Careers switch subjects)
End of Semester Attendance
Exams will be held Jan 25 – 31. Students will receive a mark of ZERO on missed exams due to travel.
Teacher Report – Ms. Dziuma
25 students involved in SAC this year, over 50 students applied. Staff made choices based on marks and attendance
SAC has always been run by Grade 12 students, however considering including all grades moving forward
Many clubs are running at SCI this year. There is a Club Board where students can learn more about the clubs. If students would like to create a new club, they need to find a teacher advisor and can start a club.
Grade 9s did not have a fall dance this year, as student leaders were very busy with Camp Manitou. Grade 9 dance will take place in Semester 2
SHSM Winterlude concert and Arts Market – student art and various homemade baking / goods will be for sale, proceeds will go to charity
Remembrance day assembly – Nov 11th during P1
