Kindergarten Registration

Children can attend Junior Kindergarten in the calendar year that they turn four and Senior Kindergarten in the year that they turn five. Online registration is available on the TDSB website here

Note that Swansea Public School is closed for optional attendance. Students must live within the designated boundaries – south side of Bloor Street, High Park, north side of The Queensway, Humber River.

To be eligible for school admission documentation is required that verifies for each child their:

  • Legal name
  • Date of birth
  • Country of origin
  • Date of arrival in Canada
  • Proof of address

Such documents may include

  • Birth certificate
  • Passport
  • Permanent Resident Card
  • Refugee Protection Claimant
  • Notice of Decision Letter for Refugee Claimants
  • Visitor Record and Work Permit
  • Proof of Address (any two)
  • Lease/purchase agreement
  • Property Tax Bill
  • Current bill with address – hydro, residential phone, water
  • Current bank statement
  • Immunization Record
  • Health Card

TDSB Transportation Policy

Transportation is provided to students who would otherwise be excused from attendance at a school because of distance as provided by the Educational Act, Section 21, based on grade level as of September 1 of the school year.

Junior Kindergarten to Grade 5:  1.6 km or more* (by school bus)

Grades 6 to 8:   3.2 km or more* (by TTC tickets)

*Distance to be measured from closest public thoroughfare of the residence of the student to nearest public access to the school building.

Transportation may be provided, regardless of distance, for students who have a medical condition or disability that severely limits walking. A medical certificate signed by a physician is required. The Board reserves the right, with signed parental consent to discuss transportation issues with the physician.
