The WexTech9782 Robotics Team is thrilled to share the success of their recent Yard Sale Fundraiser, held over the weekend of May 31 and June 1, which raised $445 in support of their upcoming 2025–2026 robotics season.
Held at parent’s house near Wexford Collegiate School of the Arts, the event welcomed visitors from across the community between 10 AM–4 PM on Saturday and 10 AM–12 PM on Sunday. Shoppers browsed through a wide array of gently used household items, books, tools, toys, clothing, and more — all generously donated by local supporters.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of donors and bargain-hunters alike, the yard sale wasn’t just a fundraiser — it was a community celebration of innovation, teamwork, and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) education.
Beyond raising funds, the event gave students a valuable platform to connect with community members and showcase their passion for robotics. Team members proudly presented marketing materials they designed themselves — including business cards, sponsor brochures, and sign-up sheets for future mentors and sponsors. Visitors enjoyed a behind-the-scenes look at the team’s robot through photos from recent competitions and learned more about the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) program.
Wexford Collegiate School of the Arts, known for its strong visual and performing arts programs, continues to support innovation across disciplines. With the help of dedicated staff, volunteers, and community members, the school fosters a space where creativity and science go hand-in-hand — and where students’ bright smiles say it all.
The WexTech9782 team sends a heartfelt thank-you to everyone who donated, shopped, volunteered, and helped spread the word. Your support is fueling the next generation of innovators, engineers, coders, and creators.
