Rouge Valley Public School opened in May, 1992. We are located at 30 Durnford Road in Scarborough, Ontario. Rouge Valley's enrolment is approximately 220 students from JK to Grade 8. The YMCA also operates a daycare facility on the premises which offers daycare services as well as before and after school programs for school-aged children (K-6). 

School Focus For This School Year:

• to increase the literacy skills for all students across all grades;
• to honour the voices, identities and lived experiences of our students and community;
• to be intentional in incorporating Indigenous perspectives and ways of knowing and being throughout the curriculum and across all grades as we work towards deeper Truth and Reconciliation;
• to increase the mathematics skills of our students in all strands of the mathematics curriculum;
• to create a positive school culture that is supportive, challenging and caring;
• to build upon our conflict resolution programs at the classroom level and throughout the school.

If you’re not familiar with Mabel’s Labels, they are personalized, durable, waterproof labels. They are great for everything from shoes, clothing tags, water bottles and backpacks. You can customize them with your child’s name and a design, and they are dishwasher, laundry and microwave safe. Each term, we donate several bags full of clothing and personal items left unclaimed from our lost and found. If the clothing was labeled, we could better ensure your child’s items are returned and not mixed up with another student.
