ARBOR GLEN COMMUNITY CHILDCARE

Arbor Glen community Childcare is a community-based, non-profit childcare program, run by a Board of Directors consisting of the parents, school staff members, and possibly a member of the community.

The Childcare is supervised by qualified day care teachers trained in Early Childhood Education, with a special knowledge of, and experience in the methods of child guidance suited to the ages of the children in the centre.

The Childcare is licensed by the Province of Ontario and holds a Purchase of Service Agreement with Metro Children’s Services.

At Arbor Glen Community Childcare, our primary goal is the preservation and building of the child’s feeling of self-worth.  The program is planned with each individual in mind, and children are free to experiment with and experience a wide variety of materials at their own level without fear of failure.

Parents form an integral part of our program.  While enriching the childcare with the variety of their experiences, parents benefit from relationships with staff, other parents and children, and the involvement in their child’s life outside the home.
