Alternative learning is possible because of our small classes, averaging 10-15 students per class. Our teachers facilitate student engagement by promoting critical thinking and discussion. We offer an innovative social sciences and science curriculum as well as arts and wellness courses taught by professional working artists.
In addition to coursework, Avondale encourages student engagement and activism though Town Hall meetings. Town Hall brings together the whole student body for discussions, debates, and expert-led presentations.

Despite our size we offer a good range of academic and university/college preparation courses in grades 10-12.
