Dear Families,

I am so proud to be the Principal at Bala Avenue Community School, a small but mighty school. I firmly believe that in order for all students to be successful, we must work together as a community of staff, families and community partners. All students are beautiful and brilliant, and we are committed here at Bala Avenue Community School to ensuring that all student identities are reflected and honoured using the Ministry of Ontario curriculum guidelines. 

I believe that families are our children's first teachers and we will work with your child's strengths to ensure that we create an inclusive, dynamic, caring and child appropriate environment for learning. This ensures timely and appropriate communication with families, and a commitment to high evidence impact instruction. 

We use the Anishnaabe Ancestor Teachings to help us live a good life here at Bala Avenue Community School, and each month, we have monthly assemblies to remind us how to be good citizens of the world, school and at home. We strive to create new learning opportunities that challenge all students to be confident, critical thinkers who are caring citizens of themselves, each other, the environment, and the land we are on.
