Principal's Greeting

A Warm Welcome!

Dear Parents/Guardians:

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! The staff and myself at Brimwood staff are excited to welcome your child(ren) for another year of exploration, learning, and discovery.

The community at Brimwood is reflective of the wonderful diversity we enjoy here in Toronto. We understand that our students come to us with unique lived experiences and backgrounds, and we celebrate this diversity regularly. We are committed to helping all students succeed by providing learning experiences and opportunities that keep students engaged and excited about school. Each and every student is capable of success. Our focus is ensuring that all students can succeed by having access – the same access – to opportunities, learning, resources and tools; with the goal of improving the outcomes for all students at Brimwood.

At Brimwood, we recognize the uniqueness and diversity of our students and work as a team of professionals within a safe and caring environment. We forge partnerships with our families and the community. We offer our students a variety of experiences to help each child reach his or her potential. We believe in our students and celebrate their achievements.

An essential element to achieving these goals is the partnership that we establish with our parents through ongoing and regular communication. Parents, your commitment to ensuring that your child arrives at school on time, rested, and ready to learn is an essential component of this partnership.

You are encouraged and invited to become involved in our school’s Parent Council. It is an organization that supports students at our school and is in many ways a wonderful link to our school community. You can also see what is happening at our school by visiting our website: http://schoolweb.tdsb.on.ca/Brimwood . Our website is updated regularly and includes links to our school calendar and Twitter feed.

You can also follow us on Twitter (@Brimwood_tdsb) to learn about daily and weekly happenings.

As we continue to address the lingering effects of COVID-19, we are excited to move forward together and we look forward to working with students, staff, parents, and the community throughout the upcoming year.

Best wishes for a very successful school year!

Cordialement,
Etienne Mercieca
