School Council

School Council

Our Purpose

The purpose of the Council is, through the active participation of parents, to improve student achievement, enhance the accountability of the education system to parents, and strengthen the connection between the school, home and the community.

What we do

School councils are an excellent way for parents/guardians to get involved in their child`s education. Our school has an elected school council that is an important forum for involving all members of the school community in issues that affect the education of students. The school council advises the principal on a variety of issues and activities relating to student achievement, curriculum goals and priorities, school budget priorities, school safety, renovation plans, after school activities, and criteria for selection of new principals.

The Chester School Council organizes and implements various programs and events including the Build Our Backyard campaign, the Fun Fair and a variety of Family Fun Nights as well as educational opportunities for parents and guardians.

From the Executive

Council meetings are open to everyone in the community; you do not have to be a member to participate. Our success is dependent on time and support from parents/guardians and the school community. Any time is appreciated so we hope to see you out soon.
