School Councils work to improve student achievement and enhance the accountability of the education system to parents and caregivers.
DGPS school council is an important forum for involving all members of the school community in issues that affect the education of students. The school council is made up of an elected committee of parents, staff, the principal, and a general membership which includes ALL parents and guardians of children attending the school. The school council advises the principal on a variety of issues and activities relating to student achievement, curriculum goals, school budget priorities, school safety, renovation plans, after school activities, criteria for selection of new principals and it advocates for the students and parents to the TDSB.
School council is an excellent way for parents to get involved in their child`s education. YOU can get involved by joining school council as an elected member, attending meetings as a general member, volunteering for activities, attending school council events or sharing your feedback, questions and concerns on any matter relating to the school.
All parents are invited to join us at all our meetings. Your input and involvement are welcome! We are working to make our school the best it can be. Please come out and offer your support!
