Notice of Guest Speaker/Presentation:

Topic: Interpersonal Consent Workshop:

We have booked Canvas programs, a TDSB approved partnership, to speak to our middle school students on Monday, December 2nd from 1:00 PM - 2:15 PM. This will be an introduction to the topic of consent specifically geared towards Gr. 7 and 8 students. We will be running two simultaneous workshops - one for Gr. 7’s and one for Gr. 8’s. This program is a highly collaborative and interactive experience where youth are tasked with working together to communicate, empathize and show support for others. Students will be provided with interactive scenarios to practice thinking critically and develop emotional social skills to enhance empathy and understanding that situations impact people differently.

Who is Canvas? Canvas is a Toronto-based charity located in downtown Toronto. Canvas' mission is to create a world free of gender or sexual based violence. We work towards these goals by providing education on topics of consent and 2SLGBTQIA+ identities to ensure that people have the tools to advocate for themselves and others, ultimately creating safer spaces.

This presentation will be focusing conversations on healthy friendships.

Locks for lockers:

We have many students who do not have locks for lockers and things do go missing! Please make sure your child brings a lock to school if they currently don’t have one.

You're invited to Montrose Jr. Public School's Taylgate Party.

WHAT:

Join your fellow Taylor Swift fans in a pre-concert celebration of all things Tay-Tay.

All Swifties are welcome. We will exchange friendship bracelets, have an ERAS dance party, and end with a sing-a-long. (THIS IS FOR KINDERGARTEN TO GRADE 6 MONTROSE STUDENTS BUT ANY INTERESTED DELTA STUDENTS ARE WELCOME TO JOIN)

Report Cards and Interviews/PA Day:

Progress Reports were sent home electronically on Wednesday. Interviews have been scheduled for tonight and Friday morning. As such, tomorrow, Friday, November 15th is a PA Day.

Elementary Alternative Schools Application Process and Information Sessions:

The TDSB offers a wide range of Elementary Alternative Schools available to students. The application process is managed centrally and includes an online application form. Complete information about the central online application process is available on the Elementary Alternative Schools Application and Admissions Process webpage.

The online application for admission for September 2025 will be open from Monday, January 6, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. to Friday, January 31, 2025 at 4:00 p.m.

Elementary alternative schools will hold information sessions and/or open houses for students and parents/guardians/caregivers in late November 2024 to mid-January 2025. More information is available on the Elementary School Open Houses and Information Nights webpage.

TDSB staff is hosting two Elementary Alternative Schools live webinars, including one daytime and one evening session. Registration is required, and a recording of the webinars will be posted on the Elementary Alternative Schools Application and Admissions Process webpage.
