Public Health

This message is from Toronto Public Health:

Each year Toronto Public Health offers free Hepatitis B, Meningococcal and the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccines to grade students. These vaccines are safe and they work. They protect students from infections which can cause serious disease. In the case of HPV it protects against cervical cancer.

Students are required to receive a series of doses to get full protection as follows:

- Meningitis vaccine- 1 dose

- Hepatitis B vaccine - 2 doses

- HPV vaccine- 3 doses

This year, Toronto Public Health will offer free immunizations through community clinics. Students who missed their vaccinations last year due to school closures are still eligible for the free vaccines. Parents can visit tphbookings.ca to make an appointment for their child to be vaccinated at a public health clinic beginning in October, or ask their health care provider to order the vaccines from Toronto Public Health. Additional information can be found HERE.
