Nurjahan A. S. - Why Emery Edvance? Emery Edvance Secondary School is mainly enrolled with students aged from 18 to 20 years old. For them, who couldn’t finish their schooling on time but still striving to chase their dream. I appreciate this well-marked step as we don’t want to spend 5 months on a single course with our real-life responsibilities. We are still young, we still have hope to change the world. It will be obvious for us not to cope up with adult-side education as the relation of respect and the relation of friendship does not always define the same. Here we make our friends, someone similar to our situation, and then try to make our every effort worthy with our hard work.
Some insights of Emery Edvance SS:
- Each course is 2 months long instead of 5 months.
- If you are a newcomer and already finished some of the courses in your back-home, you can appeal for an assessment with your academic transcript, and that can help you pass the grade faster.
- If you do not get your expected marks, you can drop out and take the course again (There are credit recovery opportunities as well).
- Additionally, you can gain volunteer experiences along with games and sports.
- You are always welcomed for guidance counselling for your further steps in University, Colleges or, even in job-career.
Overall, you meet with a diverse group of people here with cordial and understanding teachers, counsellors, and friends- which can help you to graduate in a sophisticated way expeditiously.
My personal experience:
I came here in 2019 when I was 18 years old. I completed up to grade 12 in my back home. But for a better preparation in university, I wanted to do all the prerequisites of my desired program. Things didn’t seem easy at first. I was trying to complete a quick preparation, but I had no clear idea about my next steps.
In this regard, our guidance counsellor was a great support. There are only 12 courses that I needed to complete. But I was able to do it faster than usual as I passed some prerequisite courses with their assessments. In my classes, teachers helped me a lot to cope up with that new pattern of education. I met with some incredible classmates. They made me interested in co-curricular activities for the very first time. Emery was the place from where I learned to grow my skills. From here, I got to discover that I have the capability to explore beyond just being a bookworm.
I’m still on the way to that continuation.
And it really happens when they make an ambitious and enthusiastic environment for us that helps us to be more confident in ourselves-to grow- to flourish.
Yara T. V. D. - I’ve had a very good experience with Emery EdVance Secondary School. All the staff are extremely accommodating and helpful. All my teachers were flexible around my personal/work life which was a big stress reliever. I’m thankful to have had the opportunity to attend Emery to upgrade my marks and I highly recommend it for other students trying to get their diploma or upgrade their marks.
Kekeli A. - I came to Canada in 2019, as a second year university student with French as first language. I wanted to continue my studies in one of the universities here, but I've been informed that I have to level up my credits. Which led me to Emery EdVance SS.
I felt accepted and considered since day one. They guided me through what to do to reach my requirements. Today, as I'm writing this testimony, I have an offer of admission at the university, and I'm doing my last required course.
I give thanks to the school and it's staff, especially Mr Chica and his colleagues guidance counselors.
Shay D. - At Emery my experience was nothing but good. Due to covid-19 rules we weren’t often required to be in class, but when we were I felt that all the students were in a safe environment. This school has helped me get a laptop when I couldn’t afford one myself and the guidance counsellor was amazing and actually thoroughly did his job. Anyways choose Emery to upgrade your marks efficiently and graduate!
Amanuel A. - I attended Emery for about a year, and I can say it was a wonderful experience. The teachers were always excited to share their knowledge and wanted me to get a good grade in the course. I also want to mention the Guidance, who were always willing to help and recommend things that are right for me. Overall, it's a great school, and I am so grateful for the enjoyable time I had at Emery.
Serena S. - I was failing in my classes many times before because I had to support myself and I was facing many family problems. I pushed myself hard and struggled to juggle working and doing school both full time. I found a job that was more accommodating and persevered and that is how I was able to get into the university of my choice and I am starting in the fall. I would also credit my success to the Guidance who helped me greatly along the way and pushed me to do greatness when I was sad because of my many failures.
