Dunloe Children's Centre

Dunloe Children’s Centre — Building for the Future

Founded in 1985, Dunloe Children’s Centre is a licensed, not-for-profit childcare organization located within Forest Hill Public School. Established by local parents in partnership with the Toronto District School Board, Dunloe was created to meet the growing need for high-quality early learning and childcare in the community.

Governed by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of current and former parents, community members, and school representatives, Dunloe provides a warm, inclusive, and stimulating environment for children 2.5 to 12 years of age.

Our Programs

Dunloe offers:

  • Nursery School programs
  • Childcare programs
  • Before & After School programs for JK/SK students
  • School Age programs for children ages 6–12

Programs are available in three, four, or five day options, with flexible scheduling available for School Age children.

Our Philosophy

At Dunloe, we believe every child is competent, capable, curious, and rich in potential. Our programs are designed to nurture social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through both structured and child-led learning experiences.

Guided by Ontario’s How Does Learning Happen? framework and E.L.E.C.T. principles, our educators create engaging indoor and outdoor experiences based on children’s interests, observations, and developmental needs.

We are proud to be a non-denominational and non-sectarian centre that celebrates diversity, inclusion, and respect for all cultures and beliefs.

What Makes Dunloe Special

  • Our incredible team of educators is at the heart of everything we do
  • Ongoing parent-teacher communication and mid term interviews
  • Low child-to-staff ratios
  • Children enjoy monthly special visitors and interactive enrichment experiences in place of field trips, including puppet shows, magicians, Junior Einstein science programs, musicians, Tricky Ricky performances, and visits from community helpers such as firefighters.
  • Nutritious lunches in Nursery programs
  • Staff accompaniment to and from JK/SK classrooms
  • Large outdoor play spaces with playgrounds, running track, and sports field
  • Bi-weekly music and yoga
  • Creative arts, science, sensory, dramatic, and cognitive activities

Mission

Dunloe Children’s Centre is committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment where children can learn, explore, and grow. Our goal is to foster independence, confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning in every child.

Come join our happy family — where children learn through play, discovery, and connection in a fun, safe, and caring environment.
