Welcome to Golf Road Junior Public School!  As principal at Golf Road I am happy to be part of a staff and community that prioritizes creating a safe and caring learning environment for all of our students to learn, grow and develop in.

 

My vision as an educator is to guide student learning to "think critically and creatively, be able to problem-solve, and to be able to relate to one's society and culture in a meaningful way to create positive change."  As such, as a staff we will be focussing our efforts this year on the following:

- embedding culturally relevant and responsive pedagogy into our daily instruction

- refining our reading instruction to better meet the needs of all learners

- promoting anti-racism and Indigenous ways of knowing

- creating inclusive classroom spaces for all learners

- supporting and fostering positive student mental health

As a staff we are dedicated to working with parents and the community at large to help our students to achieve success. I am a huge believer in a strong home-school connection and so I welcome and invite you into the school at all times as your contribution to school life is highly valued.
