Attendance and Notes of Permission
It is important to be on time for school Regular attendance and punctuality are essential for your success. If you know you are going to be absent or late please have your guardian contact the school 416-394-3070 before 8:45 a.m. and provide a reason.
If you arrive late for school you will have missed important instructions and valuable information. You must report directly to the office to receive a late slip to be admitted to class. Make every effort to ensure you arrive on time. Failure to attend school in a regular and punctual way will result in a need for internal and/or external interventions.
All entrances to the school will be locked after the entry bell. If you are late and want to come into the school after the doors have been locked, you will come through the front doors. For the safety of all the front doors are on a camera surveillance system. Before school students are expected to enter the back doors along with everyone else. Kindergarten students and families are expected to use the Kindergarten doors.
If you are visiting a friend after school, please have your parent/guardian make arrangements and send a note to school. These arrangements must be made before the school day begins.
Students are not permitted to use the office phone. If you are not feeling well or have left something at home, the office will call your parent/guardian for you. Students who need to bring a phone or other electronic device to school should hand it in to their teacher at the start of the day and get it back at the end of the day. On a side note, please encourage your child to learn their own phone number(s).
Permission forms must be signed by a parent/guardian in order for a student to participate in the unique opportunity. Verbal permission on the phone is no longer acceptable. Thank you!
Please come appropriately dressed for school. T-shirts should not have pictures, images or language that might be viewed as offensive. You must wear shoes at school. Leave a pair of indoor shoes at school during the winter. Shoelaces must be tied. Velcro is welcome! In the winter, come dressed with boots, a hat, a scarf and mitts.
