As a learning community we strive to promote academic, emotional, mental wellness and social success for every student that attends Lord Dufferin Junior and Senior Public School. Our students, teachers, and staff are committed to reaching higher levels of achievement as we create partnerships with students, families, caregivers and the community. We are building capacity to provide a learning environment where all students will be provided the opportunity to achieve at their full learning potential. Additionally, we value shaping our students to become stewards who are responsible, respectful, and ready to learn with gratitude.
Our curriculum is guided by study where students use critical thinking, practical learning and problem solving skills to achieve success. Our students work diligently and rigorously in the core academic areas at each grade level between JK-8. The students also participate in our strong BSSE (Black Student Success and Excellence) program and Indigenous student circle supported by the Urban Indigenous Education Centre. In addition, Lord Dufferin Junior and Senior Public School has a strong music, art, technology, STEM and athletic program.
We seek to encourage each student to grow in confidence and to cultivate a life-long curiosity for the world around us. Communicate with enthusiasm, collaborate and contribute to our community with commitment and creativity. We aim to promote academic excellence tempered by care and concern for those around us. We are very proud of our students at Lord Dufferin Junior and Senior Public School , as we are building to be a focused school in learning. When walking through our halls you will hear the sounds of engaged learners talking, listening, learning and laughing.
