Lord Lansdowne Public School is located in the middle of downtown Toronto. The original building was built in 1888; the present building was erected in 1961. The school has over 300 students. Nearly two-thirds do not have English as their first language. Chinese students represent the largest non-English speaking group. Lord Lansdowne is an Integrated Extended Day school where students stay 30 minutes longer each day in order to participate in the International Language Programs (Cantonese, Mandarin, and Spanish) . The Core and Extended French Programs further enhance the school's emphasis on language learning.
