Exploration Classrooms

Ms. Farahmand is a Math Lead in our School District who has been working with teachers at MacMillan and other schools to help establish effective and inclusive math practices in our learning network. On November 6th, we had the Superintendent, Marc Sprack, as well as teachers and principals from five other schools visit MacMillan to learn about the amazing things our students are doing!

Teams visited the classrooms of Mr. Andrews, Ms. Tremblay, Ms. Iorga, Mr. Marshall and Mr. MacDonald to see our students in action while engaging in various math tasks. These teachers then spent time with our visitors to share resources and answer any questions they might have. It was a wonderful day of learning and sharing, thank you to all of the teachers and students who participated!

Yoga Sessions

Mental health and wellness is definitely an important factor in our lives, so our X-traordinary class of 8X has been doing something to boost our everyday health: yoga! Not only does it improve our fitness, but we also feel grateful, relaxed, refreshed, and happy. Bringing our own yoga mats and clothes ensure that we feel the most comfortable. We will be having more yoga sessions throughout the year to maintain a healthy mindset.

Remembrance Day is Sunday. and this coming Monday we will have our Remembrance Day assembly. Our annual Remembrance Day Ceremony will take place on Monday, November 12th.  The Ceremony will begin at 10:15 a.m.  All community members are invited to join our staff and students as we take time to reflect on the sacrifices made by members of the our Armed Forces (soldiers, sailors and airmen). We ask that you arrive no later than 10:00 a.m. and take a seat on the chairs at the back of the gym. Students will be given poppies to wear, and we will be accepting donations. Donations are going to Royal Canadian Legion to support veterans and their families in the community.
