Mental Health: Silver Springs Public School is in partnership with the Daphne Cockwell School of Nursing at Ryerson University. This partnership gives the school an opportunity to have a student nurse, Zubaida Mohamed, twice per week starting January until April. Ms Mohamed will work with school staff to enhance the health and well-being of the students. Social and emotional health of students has been identified as an area of focus. As a result, the school has applied for the Student Support and Leadership Initiative grant, which is a funding opportunity that assists schools to promote and enhance the mental health of students. Silver Springs will work in collaboration with East Youth Metro Services and ACSA on this initiative.
